Came home last night, it was water
day,
Blue tag on the door, I feared what it would say--
"We backed up to your house and hooked up the hose,
But we couldnt fill your tank 'cause your fill pipes froze."
I stomped on the ground, the tears flowed down my face,
Said "I needed that water today!"
Well, I put on my Carharts, crawled
under the porch,
Thawed out the pipe with a propane torch.
Plugged in the heater to my sewer tank
So they could come and suck out my blankety-blank.
Called 'em this morning on the phone to say,
Please bring me some water today.
Cause my laundry's piled up and I
need a bath,
Dont want to take a shower at the laundromat.
All my dishes are dirty; theyre growin gray stuff.
My toilet desperately needs a flush.
Im high and dry and I hope and pray
They bring me some water today.
Theres water water everywhere,
But how do you get it to here from there?
Put it in a truck and haul it all around
From City Sub to the edge of town.
Costs a lot more than I want to pay,
But I need to get some water today.
I invited some guests in from out
of town,
Said dont flush it unless its brown.
But they washed and they rinsed and they stayed in the shower,
Splashin and singin for a half an hour.
I sat in the kitchen while it drained away,
Sayin, I hope they bring some water today.
Cause my laundrys piled up
and I need a bath,
Dont want to take a shower at the laundromat.
All my dishes are dirty; theyre growin gray stuff.
My toilet desperately needs a flush.
Im high and dry and I hope and pray
They bring me some water today.
My two-year-old learned how to flush
the stool,
Turned the bathroom into a swimming pool.
They came right awsy to fill me back up,
But they ran over my sno-go with their big ol truck.
In Bethel you do it the Bethel way,
Just hope they bring some water today.
Cause my laundrys piled up
and I need a bath,
Dont want to take a shower at the laundromat.
All my dishes are dirty; theyre growin gray stuff.
My toilet desperately needs a flush.
Im high and dry and I hope and pray
They bring me some water today.
